Hershl Berman is a specialist in General Internal Medicine at the University Health Network, primarily based at Toronto General Hospital. After completing an undergraduate degree in Biology and Political Science at the University of Toronto, he earned a Bachelor of Education at the University of Western Ontario. Graduating from Queen's University Medical School in 1998, he completed his Internal Medicine training at the University of Western Ontario, and returned to Toronto to do a fellowship in Palliative Medicine. He joined the Department of Medicine in 2003 and completed its Master Teacher Programme in 2006.
Hershl divides his clinical time between General Internal Medicine and Palliative Care, which he does through the Mount Sinai Hospital-based Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care. His educational area of interest is in Palliative Care and Symptom Management. In 2008 he was awarded the Associated Medical Services Educational Fellowship in Care at End of Life.
